TIM BLANCHARD LAUNCHES WEBSITE AND BRITISH FORMULA FORD ASSAULT

Australia’s reigning Formula Ford Champion launched his very own website today giving fans the opportunity to keep up to date with the young gun as he embarks on a British Formula Ford campaign in 2008.
The new site can be located at www.timblanchard.com.au and will include all the latest news, updates, images and results from his races in the 2008 British Formula Ford Championship.
“Heading over to England has been a big step, but I’m starting to get settled in with the team now and starting to get used to how things will all work,” explained Blanchard.
“It’s going to be one hell of a tough year, the competition will be fierce and the drivers competing will really take some beating but I look forward to the challenge and am confident in my own ability.”
Blanchard has joined Jamun Racing in England, a team that has notched up the last three British Formula Ford Championships running the Mygale chassis, the same chassis Blanchard steered home to win the Australian crown in 2007.
Testing in Europe has been like a dream for the young Victorian, amazed at the quality of the race tracks and amount of test days the team can take part in.
“We have had about eight test days before the season starts and 35 all up, the tracks in England are simply awesome, they require real commitment to be quick and they are physically demanding.
“I’ve tested at Oulton Park, Rockingham and Silverstone so far and my times would have put me at the front of the grid last year, I still need to find some more speed to be running top three come the first round though.”
