Hot and windy practice for Tim Blanchard at Sandown
Tim Blanchard and the Team Jayco / Cool Drive Falcon returned to Sandown today for two 40 minute practice sessions. The track was hot with Melbourne turning on humid and windy conditions for the 25 strong field. After the first session Tim sat in P11 just 2/10ths second behind team mate David Russell. "The car improved during the session. It was starting to dial in well, and we were still running on some old tyres. I think with some better rubber this afternoon, we should be in good shape." Tim said after his first Practice run.
The afternoon session however did not produce the results Blanchard was hoping for and he only managed P13. The top of the time sheets was dominated by the main series team entrants. The Championship 'satellite' teams scooped the first four positions.
"The car really struggled today in the afternoon. We went about a second quicker on better rubber but the handling and balance seemed to fall away." Blanchard said at the conclusion of the session. "We really have to focus on getting the car balanced for qualifying." Tim said.
Blanchard will be back on track for Qualifying at 10.05am on Saturday followed by the first 15 lap race on Saturday afternoon.
