The largest field assembled so far in 2010 took to the streets of Townsville today in practice for the fourth round of the 2010 Fujitsu V8 Supercar series. The line up includes V8 'regulars' Craig Baird, Paul Morris, David Reynolds, Like Youlden and Marcus Marshall all gaining valuable match practice for their endurance co driver roles at Phillip Island and Bathurst later this year.

This presented some very tough and additional competition for the young guns chasing the full Fujitsu series and it showed in overall practice today. The first three spots were filled by Reynolds, Morris & Baird after the two 40 minute sessions. The next batch included series regulars Steve Owen, David Russell & James Moffat with Tim Blanchard grabbing the final spot in the top 10.

Tim's fastest lap of 1:15.66 was only 1.3 seconds slower than the quickest car today and times are already faster than 2009 on the demanding Townsville street layout. 

Saturday sees a Qualifying session in the morning where all the cars will run fresh Dunlop Control tyres followed by Race 1 on Saturday afternoon.
